In association with a team of local independent drilling companies, we offer full subsurface investigation services.  Hollow stem auger borings, rock coring, and geotechnical instrumentation installation services are routinely provided by our firm.  With 25 years of local experience, we have gained insights into local geologic conditions that allow us to formulate subsurface investigations that provide the geotechnical data necessary for project design without unnecessary cost.

We strive to make our geotechnical reports thorough yet concise.  Our reports provide the information required by the New York State Building Code, including seismic site classification.

We provide full design services for geotechnical construction elements.  Past project experience includes the design of:

• Specialty geotechnical construction such as tiebacks, micropiles, screw piles, stone columns, and deep foundations
• Temporary and permanent earth retention systems, including anchored steel sheeting, soldier pile and lagging walls, soil nail walls, and segmental retaining walls.
• Landslide stabilization systems

We have substantial field and laboratory testing capabilities.  We are equipped to perform the following testing:

• In-place density testing with Troxler moisture/density gauges
• Field testing of concrete, including slump, air, and test cylinder compressive strength
• Atterberg limits testing, CBR testing, Grain size analysis, Proctor testing, Flexible Wall Permeability testing, Peel & Shear testing of geomembranes, Unconfined compressive strength testing of soils, Sodium Sulfate soundness testing, Electrical Resistivity testing, Consolidation testing, and other standard soil tests.

We are certified and equipped to perform Pile Integrity Testing in accordance with ASTM D 5882 "Low Strain Integrity Testing of Piles".  This cost-effective technique provides an indication of as-built integrity of drilled shafts, augercast piles, timber piles, etc. without the need for a pile driving rig and hammer.

We also routinely provide observation and analysis of pile driving and drilled shaft construction.
